Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic I

Government Jobs is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic I to join its team in the Department of Public Works' Facilities Division.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic I performs a variety of maintenance and repair work to the interior and exterior of County buildings, assisting experienced Maintenance Mechanics in plumbing, heating, electrical, or carpentry repairs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repair work on County buildings
  • Assist experienced Maintenance Mechanics in plumbing, heating, electrical, or carpentry repairs
  • Work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform repairs as needed
Work Schedule:

The current opening is for a 2nd Shift position, with a regular work schedule of 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The first two weeks will be on a First Shift schedule, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of plumbing, heating, electrical, and carpentry systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
