About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Hardware Specialist to join our team at Pixel Matter. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our embedded M2M/IoT devices.

This position involves testing and validating device hardware and firmware releases, performing regression testing on existing features, and maintaining resolution of previously solved bugs. You will also contribute to our QA process by proposing and implementing new test procedures and test plans, as well as prepare written test reports for engineers to implement appropriate software fixes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a hands-on technical support role or related field
  • Familiarity with PCBs, soldering, and operating electrical test equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently, think critically, and solve problems effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical monitoring equipment (power supplies, multimeters, waveform generators, oscilloscopes)
  • Knowledge of GPS and wireless data (Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) devices
  • Knowledge of JAVA, C, or C++ programming languages
  • Knowledge of serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, USB)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods (8+ hours/day)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds (with or without assistance)
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include near, far, peripheral, and depth perception
