Veterinary Technology Professor

Job Title: Assistant Professor, Veterinary Tech Program

McLennan Community College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our Veterinary Tech Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction in all areas of veterinary technology education, as well as supervising and evaluating students in clinical experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in veterinary technology education, including didactic, laboratory, and clinical components
• Supervise and evaluate students in clinical experiences
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment
• Recruit and advise students
• Participate in college committees and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited college or university
• Five years of continuous work experience as a licensed veterinarian
• Current licensure as a veterinarian in the State of Texas or ability to become licensed within 90 days of employment
• Good standing with the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME)
• Current registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
• USDA accreditation or eligibility to become accredited

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching in a veterinary technology, veterinary, or equivalent higher education setting
