Key Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer II is a critical role within Saint-Gobain, responsible for managing technical activities including engineering, product development, Tech Transfer, application engineering, and support to customers and other departments.

Technical Expertise
  • Production support and troubleshooting to alleviate manufacturing process losses
  • Outsourcing the repair and maintenance of tooling, ensuring tools are serviceable at all times
  • Control of contractors and management of change orders
  • Conducting Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) to determine root cause and remediation of repetitive defects/issues
Project Management
  • Assessing and authorizing process deviations
  • Advising on root causes of non-conforming materials
  • Initiating and managing change order requests, including elements of environment, health and safety, purchasing, quality, and engineering
  • Planning, developing, and executing projects to reduce waste through improved manufacturing and process efficiency, using WCM methodologies
Continuous Improvement
  • Implementing new processes and equipment using IQ/OQ/PQ validations
  • Updating validations as needed due to process changes
  • Leading and coaching multifunctional Kaizen teams
  • Auditing of pillar and kaizens

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience (3+ years)
  • Plastics experience with knowledge of extrusion, injection molding & compounding
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
