About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in the Emergency Department at UAB Hospital.

The APP will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate and manage critically ill patients
  • Perform procedures within the defined scope of practice
  • Coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Provide education and training to clinical staff and patients
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to achieve shared goals

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing with Acute Care NP or Family NP certification, or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or licensed as a Physician Assistant
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Knowledge of procedures, protocols, information, and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, disease, and deformities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to problem-solve

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $140,000-$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
