Job Summary

Four Rivers Community Health Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Oral Surgery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing oral surgical procedures.


Responsibilities:

• Administer medications as directed by the surgeon, including local anesthesia, nasal, and IV sedation in a safe and controlled environment.

• Collaborate with oral surgeons and dentists to develop and implement anesthesia plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and provide education to patients regarding options and potential risks associated with oral surgery.

• Ensure safe and effective delivery of anesthesia by following established protocols and guidelines.

• Provide post-surgical care, including monitoring patient recovery and managing pain in a compassionate and empathetic manner.

• Manage the oral surgery department's medication inventory, including proper handling and storage of drugs, routine inventory checks, and coordinating medication orders to ensure stock levels are maintained.

• Maintain a sterile environment in both pre-op and surgical areas, adhering to strict infection control practices and OSHA guidelines.

• Ensure that all instruments, equipment, and workspaces are sanitized and prepared according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.

• Document patient care information accurately and confidentially, adhering to federal and state healthcare regulations.

• Collaborate with oral surgeons, dental assistants, and administrative staff to optimize patient flow, surgical scheduling, and overall department efficiency.

• Perform various daily activities of the oral surgery department, including overseeing medication inventory and ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Other duties as assigned by the oral surgery team leader.


Requirements:

• Registered Nurse License


• Two or more years of experience in a nursing role


• Moderate sedation certification
