Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a SONIC Drive-In restaurant, ensuring that all aspects of food service meet operational standards. This includes managing, training, and coaching crew members, carhops, and skating carhops, as well as directing and assigning employees as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Restaurant Operations
    • Manage and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient food service environment
    • Ensure compliance with health and sanitation laws and regulations
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, placing orders for food, paper, and other supplies within cost control procedures
  • Employee Management
    • Recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates for restaurant positions
    • Train and develop employees to meet operational standards
    • Monitor and coach employees to ensure excellent customer service
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times
    • Immediately and respectfully resolve guest complaints
  • Marketing and Sales
    • Develop and implement a marketing plan to increase sales and customer engagement
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields preferred
  • Experience
    • Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred)
    • Experience running shifts without supervision
  • Skills
    • Leadership and supervisory practices and skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Basic accounting and computer skills
    • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
