Medical Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Oncology team at Williamson Health. This is a PRN (as-needed) night shift position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess a nursing diploma, state licensure, and relevant certifications such as Basic Arrhythmia, ACLS, and ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification. As a Medical Oncology Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care plans, ensuring comprehensive assessments, and delivering compassionate care within a diverse and inclusive healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive assessments on patients, utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
• Plan patient care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
• Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for the patient population.
• Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment, adhering to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment.
• Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Document accurately and timely.
• Reassess patient's condition, evaluate patient response, and modify plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.
• Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirements, acuity, and complexity of patient's condition.
Requirements
• Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
• Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Relevant certifications such as Basic Arrhythmia, ACLS, and ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification.
