Core Responsibilities:

  • Champion and promote a culture of continuous enhancement and operational excellence through effective leadership and coaching of improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize a comprehensive range of lean methodologies, six sigma principles, and continuous improvement strategies to empower manufacturing facilities in identifying, enhancing, and resolving challenges sustainably.
  • Collaborate with the Lean Management System within manufacturing locations to drive enhancements across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Employee Engagement.
  • Oversee multiple intricate continuous improvement projects, focusing on process optimization through disciplined measurement, accountability, analysis, and exploration of alternative processes to achieve optimal practices aligned with business goals.
  • Facilitate or lead Kaizen events targeting specific issues, whether narrow or broad in scope, across functional and operational domains.
  • Develop and disseminate standards, best practices, and training resources as necessary.
  • Deliver impactful presentations to ensure clear communication and organizational comprehension.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in continuous improvement and change management methodologies through ongoing self-education, practical application, and mentorship.
  • Guide green belts in developing skills that yield significant financial benefits and enhance customer satisfaction on complex change initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement (CI) team, collaborating with global stakeholders to identify and prioritize project opportunities, educate and mentor Green Belts, and coordinate educational initiatives for the CI community.
  • Leverage expertise or identify subject matter experts to support cross-functional efforts that drive substantial change aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure alignment of policies and procedures with the corporate vision.
  • Exhibit competencies in customer focus (both internal and external), critical thinking, creative problem-solving, teamwork, planning, analytical thinking, empathy, integrity, continuous learning, and effective communication.

Key Relationships:

This role necessitates the establishment of robust working relationships across functions with business leaders, employees, and external partners within the global enterprise. The position reports to the Director of Continuous Improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Certification in Six Sigma, Black Belt, and/or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is essential.
  • Extensive background in applying lean and/or six sigma tools.
  • Demonstrated success in executing six sigma/business improvement/lean projects and facilitating Kaizen events.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, adapting to various roles as needed.
  • Exceptional change management capabilities and a commitment to assisting individuals, teams, and sites in achieving improvement.
  • Willingness to work domestically and occasionally outside standard hours to support colleagues in different time zones.
  • Proven influencing skills and strong business acumen.
  • Robust project management and organizational skills to engage with internal customers, management, and external vendors on multiple concurrent activities.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • A degree in a relevant field (Scientific, Engineering, Business) is preferred.
