Job Description

At Brown Golf, we are seeking a highly skilled Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our golf course. This is a full-time, salaried position that comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as generous paid time off and holiday pay.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of agronomy for the golf course, property, and clubhouse grounds. This includes developing and implementing best management practices (BMPs), creating an annual agronomic budget, and managing a team of property maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement BMPs for the golf course, property, and clubhouse grounds.
  • Manage the annual agronomic budget and create a 12-month agronomic plan.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage a strong property maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement staff development programs.
  • Effectively communicate and work with other department heads on scheduled events, maintenance plans, and current conditions of the golf course.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in good working condition and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure irrigation systems are maintained in good working condition and leaks are repaired in a timely manner.
  • Attend turf conferences, equipment shows, workshops, and other educational programs to stay current on technical and turf innovations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or a related field.
  • Three to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and administrative skills.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position include regularly working in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods. The employee must be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards.
