Job Summary
This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. As an ED RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and continuously monitoring patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments on a regular basis
- Conduct triage assessments with rapid data collection related to medical and traumatic emergencies
- Assess injury causation and report neglect or abuse to appropriate agencies for intervention
- Formulate plans of care with interdisciplinary team members, including expected outcomes for each assigned patient
- Verify, document, and administer medication properly
- Provide health care teaching to patients and families, with accurate documentation
- Evaluate patient progress towards attainment of outcomes and document the effectiveness of interventions
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
• 1 year of ED nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license, or Compact Registered Nursing License with Texas license obtained within 90 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) OR Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications
