Job Description:

Candidates must reside in the Pacific Northwest region to be considered for this position.

Qualifications:Basic Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in coding, including four (4) years in inpatient facility coding or four (4) years in a coding auditor role with inpatient coding proficiency.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification:
  • One of the following is required:
  • Registered Health Information Technician
  • Coding Specialist
  • Registered Health Information Administrator
Additional Requirements:
  • Proficiency with EMR patient documentation systems and intermediate computer skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of disease processes, diagnostic and surgical procedures, and coding systems (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT).
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong time management, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage significant workloads and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Independent judgment and ethical coding practices as per AHIMA standards.
