Job Description

At The Specialty Companies, we are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer/Prepress Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and effective print marketing materials, including direct mail campaigns, promotional displays, and newsletters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, prepress, and visual communication, with a minimum of one year of professional experience. You will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Illustrator, is a must.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing print marketing materials, including direct mail campaigns, promotional displays, and newsletters
  • Collaborating with management and clients to gather requirements and project specifications
  • Brainstorming and mocking up design ideas, presenting them to management and/or clients, and adjusting designs based on feedback
  • Executing designs using computer software and/or hand rendering, selecting colors, images, textures, and shapes to create a layout
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in the print industry/pre-press is a plus
  • College degree or experience in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • One year of relevant experience required, with a portfolio of work
  • Thorough knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, staff, vendors, and others
  • Self-reliant, able to work independently and accept responsibility for projects
  • Strong organization skills, able to switch tasks easily, and manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
  • Highly professional and dependable
