Medical Office Support Specialist

Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet patients and visitors, in person or over the phone, with a smile and a friendly demeanor.
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information, including personal and financial details.
- Collect outstanding patient balances and obtain referrals and authorizations when required.
- Scanning incoming faxes, consents, reports, and all other patient information into patient charts.
- Facilitate the patient flow by notifying providers or medical staff of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
- Schedule follow-up services and office visits for patients and respond to inquiries from patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records and ensure proper hand-off of responsibilities once tasks are completed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1-3 years' customer service experience is required.
- Experience in a medical office, preferably in urology, is preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of CPT procedure coding and ICD-10 diagnostic coding are preferred.
