Special Education Instructor

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to facilitate the academic growth of special needs students in our institution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in special education and be able to create engaging lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Estimated Salary Range$55,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, travel assistance, short/long term disability, and a weekly paycheck.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing Academic Instruction: Deliver evidence-based instruction to special needs students in various subjects using multisensory learning techniques, repetition, or phonetics.
- Creating Individualized Programs: Develop tailored educational programs for students based on their specific needs to promote learning and social development.
- Communicating Educational Plans: Effectively communicate educational plans to parents, teachers, administrators, social workers, and other stakeholders involved in student progress.
- Utilizing Positive Reinforcement: Employ positive reinforcement and behavior modification to teach socially acceptable behavior and reduce incidents.
- Maintaining Records: Keep accurate records of special needs students, adhering to local, state, and federal guidelines for compliance.
- Coordinating with Teachers: Collaborate with teachers to modify the curriculum, creating a more effective learning environment for special needs students.
- Administering Tests: Administer tests to diagnose learning disabilities and monitor student progress.
To be considered for this position, candidates must:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
- Possess 3-5 years of experience as a special education teacher.
- Be certified as a special education teacher in South Carolina.
