At CARTI, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the preparation of medications, record keeping, and inventory control.

Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to prepare medication orders, maintain inventory, and perform various tasks as outlined below:

  • Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under a pharmacist's supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient and sample medications, including inventory levels and controlled drug counts.
  • Properly dispose of hazardous materials used in medication preparation.
  • Clean and maintain equipment according to department guidelines.
  • Verify patient information and review laboratory values under a pharmacist's supervision.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with IV compounding skills.
  • A strong understanding of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
  • The ability to read and interpret prescription information.
  • Knowledge of metric and apothecary systems of weights and measurements.
  • Advanced knowledge of aseptic technique and procedures.

You must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
