Job Title: Pulmonary Adolescent Endocrine Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pulmonary Adolescent Endocrine Unit at Texas Children's Hospital. As a Pulmonary Adolescent Endocrine Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned nurse with a passion for critical care and pediatrics. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate care for patients with pulmonary, respiratory, adolescent medicine, and endocrine issues. Your expertise and experience will be invaluable in helping us provide exceptional patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs, documenting findings in a thorough and organized manner.
  • Analyze situations, anticipate potential problems, and detect changes in patient status, re-prioritizing and updating plans of care as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, documenting interactions and updates in the medical record.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences, sharing insights and recommendations to enhance patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments in a timely and accurate manner, monitoring patients' responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practices, promoting excellence in patient care and safety.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field, with current RN licensure by the Texas Board of Nursing or participation in the Nurse License Compact.
  • At least one year of experience in nursing, preferably in pediatric critical care or a related setting.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association and PALS training.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
What We Offer:

Texas Children's Hospital offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
