Healthcare Support Specialist

About the Role:
The Health Unit Coordinator provides critical support to patient care units and the healthcare team at Mayo Clinic. This role involves organizational, receptionist, and clerical duties, including monitoring and ordering supplies, answering patient call lights, and assisting with electronic health records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
- Monitor and manage supplies, ensuring timely ordering and restocking
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and elevate needs to nursing staff
- Assist with managing orders in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff via various modalities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and strong keyboarding skills
- Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program or certification preferred
- Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred
