**Job Description:**
As an LPN Education Specialist at MUSC Health & Medical University of SC, you will play a vital role in supporting the Student Health & Wellbeing Care clinical providers, nurses, and professional staff in various complex or highly skilled paraprofessional nursing and clinical support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, ethical, patient-centered, culturally congruent, and evidence-based care within the scope of practice.
- Organize patient rooms for visit needs and ensure cleanliness of room before and after visit.
- Obtain and document vital signs and patient-reported signs and symptoms in the EMR, and place patients in rooms.
- Manage the random drug screen process for the colleges.
- Upload drug screening results to the appropriate student Point and Click Electronic Medical Record (PnC EMR).
- Provide the results to the requesting college and the appropriate provider, documenting those actions in the PnC EMR.
- Perform administrative tasks that support the efficient functioning of the clinic (e.g., answering patient telehealth and phone calls as well as emails, greeting patients, consent forms, immunization forms, patient payments, record uploading, schedule patient appointments).
- Monitor clinic supply needs, inform lead nurse, and assist with orders as needed.
- Support the role of the Administrative Coordinator as needed.
- Monitor the email for new students without net IDs and graduates along with Student Health Staff as well as current students' emails through LifeNet with responses within 24 hours on business days.
- Assist with quality improvement projects and any special projects as assigned by the Lead Nurse/Associate/Executive Director.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Two years of related experience as an LPN.
- Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support prior to the completion of general orientation.
