Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in La Crosse, WI. As a key member of our bakery department, you will play a crucial role in crafting unforgettable experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Recipe & Production Control: Follow recipes and production lists precisely to ensure high-quality bakery items. Monitor dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and report shrinkage.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all Health Department guidelines and Festival sanitation practices. Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, coolers, freezers, and dry storage.
- Guest Service: Provide excellent customer service to our guests by assisting them with finding items, taking special orders, and addressing concerns. Answer phone calls with proper etiquette and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Stock Monitoring: Keep an eye on stock levels and service floor needs, ensuring proper assortment and production-level, especially for early mornings and evenings.
- Quality Standards: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
- Customer Focus: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.
- Effective Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members.
- Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on ovens, lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, mixers, slicing and packaging machinery, and other equipment.
- Retail Expertise: Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
