Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welding Professor to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in welding and be able to develop and deliver high-quality instructional programs that meet the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft contextualized and integrated learning experiences to meet stated student learning outcomes at the course, program and college-level.
  • Create and facilitate authentic integrated learning experiences for students in the areas of Welding Technology so that students can apply their learning to the world of work and further education.
  • Create authentic assessments of students' knowledge, skills and abilities in Welding Technology, the Welding Program and college abilities.
  • Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote the affective, cognitive and kinesthetic domains of learning.
  • Use local, state, and national data and analytics to continuously improve strategies for student success.
  • Advise students regarding academic pathways and the courses needed to reach each student's academic goals.
Requirements
  • Five years of journey-level welding experience.
  • Proficiency in all-position welding using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum as appropriate
  • Ability to obtain (within 6 months of hiring) and maintain American Welding Society Welding Inspector certification.
  • Washington State Professional Technical Vocational Certificate or ability to become vocationally certified, which requires at least two years of applicable industry experience within the last five years.
  • Degree/Certificate or completion of a recognized apprenticeship related to welding.
