Job Overview:

As a Medical Care Assistant at Public Health Management Corporation, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of clients in our Interim House West program. You will assist the RN Health Care Coordinator in conducting comprehensive physical assessments, providing health education and counseling, and ensuring that clients receive high-quality medical care.

About the Role:

  • Assist the RN Health Care Coordinator in performing physical assessments, health teaching, and provision of care supportive to restoration of life and well-being
  • Collaborate with the nurse to complete client medical history assessments, including phlebotomy services for admission blood work
  • Coordinate client medical services external to the residential program
  • Make referrals for clients requiring further assessment or management of episodic and/or chronic health problems
  • Ensure timely follow-through for client medical appointments
  • Maintain accurate medical records for clients
  • Communicate effectively with clients, therapists, and psychiatrists to coordinate medical needs and diagnoses
  • Under the direction of the nurse, follow up on health problems and health assessments on the evening shift
  • Maintain standard precautions among staff and residents
  • Stay current with educational advances within the field

Requirements:

To be successful as a Medical Care Assistant, you must be certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). We offer a competitive salary and benefits package to support your career growth and well-being.
