About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Snapchat and drive the development of our Machine Learning Training Platform. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling critical machine learning components and services to support our most strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Implement Machine Learning Components: Develop and deploy scalable machine learning models, algorithms, and services that meet our business needs.
  2. Lead the Development of Our Next-Generation Training Framework: Create a cutting-edge training framework that enables us to efficiently train and deploy large-scale models.
  3. Optimize Model Performance: Use various GPUs to optimize model training speed and efficiency, ensuring our models are accurate and reliable.
  4. Automate the Machine Learning Lifecycle: Develop an AutoML platform that accelerates model generation and streamlines the machine learning model lifecycle.
  5. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product teams to understand requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver innovative solutions that meet our business needs.
  6. Drive Technical Excellence: Advocate for best practices in availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management, ensuring our machine learning solutions are efficient and effective.
Requirements:
  • 14+ Years of Industry Experience: Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at scale and delivering large-scale machine learning projects.
  • Strong Technical Skills: Excellent programming skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design, as well as a strong understanding of machine learning approaches and algorithms.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead teams, drive technical roadmaps, and influence the entire company with your technical direction.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive Compensation: Salary range $208,000-$366,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
