Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Vidant Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing safe, expedient, and cost-effective respiratory care services to patients of all ages with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with respiratory illnesses and other cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans to achieve desired therapeutic objectives
  • Provide and record patient and family education in patient medical records
  • Participate in life-support activities, respond to emergencies, and provide therapeutic interventions as required
  • Use universal precautions, perform proper handwashing, and follow department policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and students in person or over the phone
  • Operate equipment safely and effectively, and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • Associate Degree or higher in an approved CoARC program for Respiratory Care
  • Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire and maintained yearly
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registry Eligible with RRT credential obtained within 1 year of graduation
  • American Heart Association ACLS, if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of Employment and maintained
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in respiratory care
