Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our cognitive and behavioral child neurologists and pediatricians to provide comprehensive care for attention, sleep, headaches, and challenging behavior. You will also be responsible for conducting thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments, considering the unique needs of each patient and their family.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months in pediatric practice in an outpatient setting, preferably in behavioral neurology and/or Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) and pediatric behavior disorders, including autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments that incorporate the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member into the plan of care.
  • Triage referrals for acute needs to other members of the Cortica team.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care for each patient.
  • Utilize the nursing process, scientific reasoning, and critical problem-solving to practice within the scope of responsibilities as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Provide ongoing education to families enrolled in our medical program on a diverse set of well-delineated topics.
  • Work with our cognitive and behavioral child neurologists and pediatricians to provide ongoing care for attention, sleep, headaches, and challenging behavior.
Requirements
  • Knowledge regarding diagnoses and therapies for Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Headaches, Insomnia, Epilepsy, and other neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
  • A minimum of 12 months in pediatric practice in an outpatient setting, preferably in behavioral neurology and/or Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) and pediatric behavior disorders, including autism.
  • Proficiency in ADIR/ADOS diagnostic evaluation.
  • Telemedicine skills, including ability to leverage multiple forms of technology simultaneously.
  • A current and unrestricted license and/or certification required to practice within your clinical domain.
