Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Plumber to join our facility maintenance team at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth. As a Licensed Plumber, you will be responsible for performing all plumbing repairs and installations in the hospital, including the procurement of necessary permits on new installations and renovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all plumbing repairs and installations in the hospital, including the procurement of necessary permits on new installations and renovations.
  • Perform all preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing systems.
  • Perform general maintenance duties.
  • Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with safety and other laws, rules, and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
  • May be required to work off shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Determine acceptable quality of materials and/or equipment.
  • Needs to have working knowledge of other trades; HVAC, boilers, plumbing, carpentry, and maintenance mechanic.
  • Perform one or more trades to include plumbing, steam fitting, carpentry, major electrical, and related maintenance of high- and low-pressure boiler systems.
  • Respond and complete Grand PM work tickets as required/assigned.
  • Act as an Emergency Preparedness First Responder, as trained.
  • Conducts Preventative Maintenance (PM's) as scheduled or assigned.
  • Conducts daily monitoring Rounds as required.
  • Responds to calls for service in a timely manner.
  • Intervenes on the patient's behalf as appropriate.
  • Documents all activities according to healthcare organizational policy.
  • Interacts with Maintenance team on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and knowledge in problem identification and solving activities.
  • Identifies learning opportunities required to enhance care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent to a graduate of a vocational or trade school.
  • At least five years of experience in trade as a licensed plumber.
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints.
  • Must possess Massachusetts Journey persons Plumber License.
  • Able to obtain State 'Special to Operate' boiler certification within 6 months of hire.
