Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Warehouse Operations Specialist to work on a government project at the Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC) in Adelphi, Maryland. This full-time position requires onsite work at the ALC facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and Processing Shipments: Receive, unload, store, and process incoming shipments manually or using handcarts, forklifts, or other non-mechanized conveyances, adhering to documented receiving procedures for ARL.
  • Assignment of Receipt Control Numbers: Assign a receipt control number (manifest) and document it in an Excel spreadsheet, annotating all receiving documents and packages accordingly.
  • Material Inspection and Storage: Conduct material inspections, route items not requiring inspection to designated storage areas, and retrieve documentation from various sources.
  • Damage Reporting and Secure Handling: Report damaged conditions to Government employees, recognize non-expendable items for formal property accountability, and apply barcodes for accountability purposes.
  • Specialized Material Handling: Handle hazardous materials, radioactive cargo, and sensitive items like Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) or weapons according to established procedures.
  • Forklift Operation and Vehicle Maintenance: Operate a forklift for loading and unloading items, pass a Defense Driving Course, obtain a Government Operators Permit, and perform daily operation inspections.
  • Supply Chain Management: Transport articles, materials, or furniture between offices, assure vehicle capacity, complete trip tickets, and remove packing items, trash, and scrap materials.
Required Qualifications:
  • Citizenship and Clearance: U.S. citizenship required for contract obligations and maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
  • Education and Skills: High school diploma, ability to follow standard operating procedures, handle hazardous materials, and possess a valid State Driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Sit for long periods, repeat movements, lift up to 70 pounds, manual dexterity, and correct vision and hearing.
Estimated Salary Range:

$40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
