Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Worker to join our team at Flik Independent School Dining. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving food to students, faculty, and staff.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with our culinary team to prepare and present high-quality meals that meet our guests' dietary needs and preferences.
  • You will maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • You will provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that our guests feel welcome and valued.
  • You will work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food to order, using approved recipes and production standards.
  • Present dishes in an appealing and appetizing manner, garnishing with fresh herbs and edible flowers where possible.
  • Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system with accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, utensils, and work areas, adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to inventory management, ordering supplies and materials as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • You must have previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment, preferably in a school or university setting.
  • You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and guests from diverse backgrounds.
  • You should be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending and reaching.
  • You should be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
