Aureus Medical Group - Imaging is seeking a travel MRI technologist to join their team in Peoria, Illinois.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and specialized examinations in MRI, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, and preparing patients for examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging.
  • Exhibit competency in performing MRI procedures.
  • Evaluate the finished images to ensure appropriate identification and image quality are being submitted to the radiologists.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
  • Maintain working knowledge of equipment to function on both high field and low field magnet.
  • Perform reasonable trouble shooting and check equipment for general safety.
  • Know terminology or jargon of all magnet strengths.
  • Perform support functions of the MRI/Medical Imaging Department.
  • Promptly prepare images/paperwork to ensure timely turnaround of the exams.
  • Transport patients to and from the department as required.
  • Promptly and accurately enter patient information into the HIS system.
  • Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Ensure a safe environment by monitoring people who come within zone 3 & 4.
  • Demonstrate a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.
  • Demonstrate skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.
  • Assume responsibility for training fellow technologists and students.
  • Assist Lead Technologist in teaching MRI procedures to coworkers/students.
Requirements
  • CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • State License-Radiology Technologist-Illinois.
  • ARRT-MR (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) certification.
  • ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
  • Ability to lift 50-100lbs.

Aureus Medical Group - Imaging offers a competitive pay package based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
