Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist

At the Detroit Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, you will carry out all technical aspects of cardiac catheterization procedures, assessing all parameters and performance during procedures. You will also be required to make value judgments pertaining to patient condition and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Carry out all technical aspects of cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Assess all parameters and performance during procedures
  • Make value judgments pertaining to patient condition and safety
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Science with a major in Cardiovascular Technology, or
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Training Program and/or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience, or
  • Completion of the first year of a two-year accredited Cardiovascular program
  • Registration with the National Board of Cardiovascular Testing preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) within 6 months of hire for employees working in adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) within 1 year of hire for employees working in pediatric settings
