Accounting Internship at Lactalis

Lactalis, a leading dairy company, is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our team in Buffalo. As a family-owned business with a global presence, we offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance.

As an Accounting Intern, you will assist the Director of Accounting and Director of Tax and Insurance with various tasks, including financial data analysis, statutory financial reporting, and financial project support. You will also have the opportunity to learn the key functionality of a corporate accounting department and develop your skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and analyzing financial data
  • Assisting with monthly statutory financial reporting
  • Supporting financial projects
  • Providing support for the Accounting department in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month-end closing
  • Performing various monthly and weekly accounting functions
  • Assisting the Corporate Tax team with projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be working towards completing a degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong technical and organizational skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
  • General knowledge of an income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, and financial modeling
  • SAP knowledge is a plus
