Gateway Foundation Clinical Therapist Role

Gateway Foundation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. As a Clinical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing essential tools and knowledge for recovery, positively impacting hundreds of thousands of lives.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop complex treatment plans for clients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Maintain patient caseload, including conducting comprehensive assessments, preparing individualized treatment plans, and reporting client treatment progress to supervisors.
  • Prepare and conduct group counseling or therapeutic encounter sessions to address specific social or psychological issues.
  • Prepare and conduct individual counseling sessions to assist patients with overcoming dependencies and making life changes.
  • Develop and implement complex treatment and discharge plans for patients and conduct intensive or comprehensive interventions.
  • Design, implement, and integrate intensive service programs for the site to address particular social or psychological problems affecting the patient population.
  • Serve on department or site committees to plan and evaluate treatment programs and client services.
  • Document treatment plans, narrative progress notes, interventions, treatments, evaluations, discharge summaries, and treatment plan reviews.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, substance use disorder counseling, or a related field.
  • Current, valid credential (CADC, LPC, or LSW) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of counseling experience in the substance use disorder field or mental health field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of group and individual dynamics, conflict resolution, and intervention techniques.
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations governing health records confidentiality.
  • Time and project management skills.
  • Advanced communication skills to exchange information and interact with the treatment team, clients, client families, and outside vendors and agencies.
