Facilities Maintenance Worker

**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of Somerville. This is a full-time position that requires strong physical ability, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Clean and maintain all school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and restrooms;
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains;
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently;
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for students, staff, and visitors;
- Respond to facility-related emergencies and issues in a timely and professional manner.
**Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license;
- The ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand/walk for long periods;
- Good physical stamina and endurance;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
**Compensation and Benefits:
The City of Somerville offers a competitive salary of $52,791 per year, plus benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan and paid time off.
