Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our multi-disciplinary Operations teams at our Fabric & Home Care Innovation Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies, programs, and best practices to drive operational excellence in our oil sample, perfumery, applications, evaluation preparation, and QC labs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the talents in IC&D Ops, securing career plans for the workforce and feeding the overall talent pipeline.
  • Develop and implement onboarding and training programs for new hires to minimize ramp-up time and optimize performance.
  • Define sourcing strategies for key roles and build a talent profile that balances experienced employees with a pipeline of new talent.
  • Create a culture of development that encourages team members to develop skills and improve productivity.
  • Ensure the creative center is designed and equipped to optimize the creative experience while operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Design and implement a consistent sampling process flow to ensure optimal sampling, on-time delivery, quality, and cost to serve.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-term organizational goals, objectives, and strategies aligned with global KPIs.
  • Develop and manage internal reports, including monthly performance indicators such as on-time performance, lead time, capacity, and costs.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement based on audits and metrics of the sampling process and facility performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for key transformational projects.
  • Define standards for creative center facilities, ensuring best-in-class space design and required standards for extraction and air quality.
  • Implement standards for evaluation facilities and equipment within global standards.
  • Ensure all processes, Standard Operating Procedures, systems, equipment, and tools are optimized and globally shared/aligned with IC&D laboratory counterparts.
  • Drive and optimize processes and automation to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and decrease inventory levels while maintaining high customer service.
  • Optimize lab infrastructure to meet KPIs.
  • Partner with Creative Catalogue, Value Creation, and Manufacturing teams to improve cost to serve via ingredient rationalization, inventory management, raw material flow, and operations adaptation.
  • Manage Operational Expenditure through the IC&D Ops OPEX budget.
  • Provide expertise to support delivery of approved CAPEXes.
  • Incorporate cost to serve principles into IC&D operations.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture in the workplace, ensuring safety is the highest priority.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders through effective communication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Chemistry (or related field) with a minimum of 5-7 years of multi-disciplinary business process and management experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work on cross-functional project teams.
  • Advanced communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with business fluency in English.
  • Business knowledge and acumen within the Fragrance Industry, with an understanding of the creative process and link to manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP in relation to IC&D Ops processes.
