Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Divisional Youth Ministry Coordinator. This role will be responsible for developing, promoting, and administering programming for youth, with a focus on evangelism, community, and the 40 Developmental Assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement youth ministry programs, including character building and kids club initiatives, in collaboration with local units.
  • Administer youth ministry completion and achievement records for the division.
  • Provide training and support to local youth leaders on programming and ministry development.
  • Plan and coordinate youth ministry programs for summer camps and divisional events.
  • Manage and maintain records and registrations for youth ministry in the division.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Spiritual Formation & Leadership Development Specialist to provide training and resources for local youth leaders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the position.
Community Engagement
  • Assist local units in evaluating their community youth engagement and developing strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure that all youth programs are inclusive and engage diverse social, racial, and ethnic communities.
  • Provide support and guidance for divisional community center and recreational programs.
The Salvation Army Outdoors (TSAO)
  • Lead TSAO ministries for the division, including trainings and TSAO camp ministries.
  • Manage TSAO resources for the divisional local units.
  • Plan, promote, and train local leaders in TSAO activities and programs.
  • Implement TSAO at summer camps.
  • Coordinate and communicate with territory-level colleagues for TSAO training sessions.
Program Resource Management
  • Manage general correspondence for the department.
  • Provide administrative support for various divisional events and camps via camp management software.
  • Manage invoice processing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Christian ministries, or a related field preferred.
  • Three years' experience in a related field; three years' experience serving in The Salvation Army youth ministry programming preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to promote TSA through public speaking, written work, and effectively work well with others.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.
Working Conditions

This position requires an employee to drive. Employee must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet safety program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Some same-day or overnight travel may be required to attend seminars/workshops/camps as assigned (or as requested with approval).

Work performed in a typical office environment that will require willingness and ability to work irregular and extended hours; position will require some weekend and evening work along with eight weeks of office relocation at Three Trails Camp. Must be willing to work at the Divisional Camp throughout the summer youth camping season and participate in other off-site Youth Department programs.
