Electrophysiology Technician

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Technician to join our team on a temporary assignment in Paramus, New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Electrophysiology Procedures: Prepare and position patients for electrophysiology studies and ablations, assist the electrophysiologist during procedures, and monitor patient vitals and ECG signals throughout the procedure.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and operate EP lab equipment, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, and maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
- Patient Care and Safety: Educate patients and their families about the EP procedure, ensure all safety protocols are followed to minimize the risk of infection and complications, and provide pre- and post-procedural care.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all aspects of the procedure, generate and maintain patient records, and report any equipment malfunctions or procedural complications to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, participate in team meetings, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiology Technology, or a related field.
- Certification: Certification in Electrophysiology (RCES), Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS), or American Registered Radiology Technology (ARRT).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an EP lab or cardiac catheterization lab, hands-on experience with EP lab equipment and procedures.
- Skills: Strong technical aptitude, excellent patient care and communication skills, ability to work well under pressure, and attention to detail.
- Work in a hospital or specialized cardiac care facility.
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and radiation; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as moving patients and equipment.
