Chief Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Foxhall Resort. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs, monitoring life safety systems and utilities, and administering the department in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Supervise and manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff to ensure the efficient operation of the resort's mechanical and electrical systems.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Maintenance and Repair
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all resort equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is performed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and materials to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is performed in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement effective safety procedures and protocols to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments, including housekeeping, food and beverage, and front office.
- Communicate regularly with management and staff to ensure that all maintenance and repair work is performed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Education and Experience
- College degree or courses in a related field, such as engineering or facilities management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
- Skilled in several areas, including HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
