Aquatic Safety Specialist

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team for the holiday season. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all pool patrons, enforcing pool rules, and implementing emergency protocols as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Prevent emergencies by conducting continuous and consistent visual scans of the pool area.
- Recognize potential incidents or emergencies and address them immediately.
- Activate branch and pool emergency action plans when necessary.
- Perform rescues or assists as required.
- Provide care such as CPR, first aid, and oxygen therapy when needed.
- Complete incident reports in a timely manner.
- Enforce pool rules and handle issues professionally.
- Maintain a clean and safe pool environment at all times.
Requirements:
- Must have active lifeguard certifications and swim experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to interact with members and staff.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
