Major Gift Development Specialist

Northwestern University is seeking a talented Major Gift Development Specialist to join its team in the Feinberg School of Medicine.
About the RoleThis dynamic individual will be responsible for securing major gifts from grateful patients, alumni, and friends of Northwestern University to support specific program areas within the Feinberg School of Medicine. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of potential donors, overseeing all aspects of the fundraising cycle, including qualification visits, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop strategies to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects, gathering data and assessing leads to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaboration: Work closely with faculty members, administrators, and other stakeholders to identify and integrate resources in support of strategic goals and objectives.
- Prospects and Gifts: Develop, plan, and implement strategies to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts, maintaining responsibility for portfolio management and achieving measurable targets for each fiscal year.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of development, marketing, sales, or equivalent experience required.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience working in philanthropy at an institution of higher education, academic medical center, or hospital.
- Track record of growing fundraising totals, sales, etc.
Northwestern University offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 - $98,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, the university provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
