At Temple University Hospital - Episcopal Campus, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN-Clinical Research Nurse Pool to join our team.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year

Job Summary:

The RN-Staff Nurse, in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Department of Neurology, will assist in delivering high-quality, efficient medical care to an adult patient population in the ALS-Neuromuscular Program in an outpatient setting. The incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day activities surrounding clinical research studies and ensure compliance with federal, state and university regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing and/or coordinating timely direct and indirect patient care services in a multidisciplinary setting;
  • Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments;
  • Obtaining patient history and vital signs;
  • Administering injections, blood draws, IVs and medications;
  • Maintaining records of vital statistics, and other pertinent patient data in the EMR system;
  • Appropriately fielding/triaging patient telephone calls regarding medication changes, clinical status, prescription renewals, changes in condition etc.;
  • Providing individual assistance to patients, families and caregivers to help identify and overcome barriers which may hinder quality medical patient care;
  • Educating and counseling patients and families;
  • Keeping assigned patient logs up to date including infusions;
  • And obtaining required pre-cert or prior authorization to assure the timely approvals of patients complex treatments and drugs.

Requirements:

  • Professional licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of PA;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and nursing competence;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to use an electronic medical record system;
  • Proven organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to operate all standard office equipment and software including MS Office.
