Financial Empowerment Coach

ANEW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building people and communities. As a Financial Empowerment Coach, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the financial capabilities of our participants. Your primary responsibility will be to manage comprehensive financial counseling processes, guiding individuals in improving their savings, reducing debt, building credit scores, creating budgets, and developing financial statements.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver financial literacy education through various platforms, including workshops, seminars, webinars, and eLearning sessions.
- Conduct recurring one-on-one coaching sessions with students while facilitating group interactions throughout each program cohort.
- Collaborate with cohort instructors and program coordinators to schedule optimal times for teaching sessions and engage participants effectively.
- Monitor participant progress by pulling students weekly for check-ins and assessments, ensuring personalized support and accountability.
- Understand and manage grants contracts with a focus on metrics compliance and billing processes.
- Work with partners and funders, such as LISC and the Department of Commerce, providing necessary technical support and ensuring results and metrics are achieved, as well as providing timely and comprehensive reporting needs.
- Manage relationships with funders and different partners.
- Manage and supervise data entry on various software programs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Create and update accurate files and maintain complete participant case notes that reflect program progress.
- Demonstrated commitment to economic, racial, and social justice and an understanding of the ways institutions and systems hurt communities of color through both conscious and unconscious bias.
- Ability to work with participants from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to supervise and coach employees.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to motivate, negotiate, and persuade diverse groups and individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidences and handle highly confidential materials.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Detail-oriented and well-defined organizational skills.
- Proven ability to creatively, flexibly, and independently handle high-pressure, multiple, and complex projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
- Flexibility and adaptability in working with a growing non-profit organization.
- Strong communication and solid financial administrative skills with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience in working with collaborative partnerships.
- 72 quarter or 48-semester credits at an institution of higher education (official transcript is required), OR an Associate's (or higher) degree (official transcript is required) OR Prior job-related experience paid or volunteer with school-age children or student programs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and on weekends.
- Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment.
- Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing the work described.
- Continuation of this position is dependent on the achievement of performance goals and the availability of funding.
ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned. Monday-Friday.
Reports ToCareer Exploration Program Manager.
SalaryThis position is paid as an exempt position with a starting salary range of $68,993 - $73,226.66 per year. This position is grant-funded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding. The starting salary is based on education and experience as per the below matrix.
BenefitsThis position is non-exempt. The person in this position is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent, which is contingent upon performance evaluation, funding, board direction, and potential re-development of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer-paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits. A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of $80 per month. Employees who work less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for paid benefits. Additional employer-paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, and taxes as required by law.
