About the Role

The State of Indiana is seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Manager to join our team in the Northwest Region. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of financial management and accounting principles, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job Summary

The Fiscal Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting details for the newly created Transit Development Districts (TDD). This includes managing state and federal grants, reconciling accounts, cash management, procurement, preparation and management of budgets, and assisting external auditors in the annual audit activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounting management of federal and state accounts
  • Prepare and coordinate the preparation of the agency's biennial budget submissions and annual spending plans
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements for each division and account
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of quarterly federal financial reports for all federal programs and year-end close-out reports for all federal programs
  • Advise and assist managers and directors in preparation of annual federal grant applications
  • Develop policies and procedures for general accounting and bookkeeping functions

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Seven (7) years full-time professional experience in accounting, auditing, business administration, financial management/analysis, or related experience
  • Four (4) years of full-time experience in an administrative, supervisory, or management capacity
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply the theories, principles, laws and techniques regarding state and federal governmental accounting, budgeting, and auditing
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, GASB, GAGAS, GAAS and other applicable accounting guidelines

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $75,010.00, with potential for commensurate increase based on education and work experience.
