ATI is seeking a highly skilled Sonic Inspector to join our team in Monroe, NC. As a key member of our Conditioning department, you will play a vital role in ensuring our materials meet the highest standards of quality.

As a Sonic Inspector, you will be responsible for processing materials in the sonic tank and utilizing various non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to identify surface and internal nonconformities. Your attention to detail, commitment to teamwork, and eagerness to learn will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up and operating equipment
  • Identify materials entering the department
  • Follow safety regulations and maintain accurate records
  • Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts and cranes
  • Train for 3 months and receive 40 hours of classroom instruction
  • Learn to operate all instruments and test systems
  • Pass written and practical examinations after 3 months of training

Level I and Level II Requirements:

  • Continue training and develop skills in NDT and equipment operation
  • Make specific calibrations and verify equipment accuracy
  • Operate equipment under supervision and receive additional training
  • Pass written and practical examinations after 12 months of experience

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience

Skills:

  • Basic math skills and computer proficiency
  • Ability to read instructions and operate hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in hot conditions
  • Pass In-dept vision screening and Sonic Assessments
