About the Role

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will engage in the professional practice of communication and swallowing. You'll work alongside our Pediatric Physiatrist in a multidisciplinary environment to provide intensive function-based therapy in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow in your practice by working with diverse patient populations, including those with burns, orthopaedic, acute care, and outpatient settings. You'll design, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans to address presenting symptoms or concerns.

Responsibilities

  • You'll conduct comprehensive patient examinations and evaluations using a patient-centered approach to decision-making, incorporating national standards and AMA CPT codes.
  • You'll develop and implement treatment plans to optimize function and address communication and/or swallowing problems.
  • You'll make discharge plans by collaborating with patients, families, care management, and community resources, such as schools and outside therapy clinics.
  • You'll actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings and support risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate documentation.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • State of Louisiana licensure and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
  • At least one year of experience in a pediatric setting.

Estimated Salary: $83,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
