Purpose and Scope:

As a Dialysis Nurse at Dialysis Care Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the mission, core values, and customer service standards of our organization. You will adhere to our policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties and Activities:
  • Supervise and mentor Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and direct day-to-day patient care.
  • Review new staff documentation for accuracy.
  • Supervise and perform direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, pre-evaluation, initiation, monitoring, termination, access homeostasis, and post-evaluation of dialysis.
  • Document patient information, perform physical nursing assessments, administer dialysis medications, and transcribe physician orders.
  • Assist with patient scheduling and monitor lab results, ordering and following up on labs through Ascend.
  • Communicate emergencies, patient life-threatening complications, and related situations to the medical director, physician, and Clinic Manager.
  • Maintain competency with emergency operational procedures and ensure verification and availability of adequate emergency equipment.
  • Assess patient response to hemodialysis treatment therapy and make adjustments to the treatment plan as prescribed by the physician.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection preventative measures and perform safety and infection audits on a routine basis.
  • Educate patients and family members on all aspects of End Stage Renal Disease.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure patient outcomes are being met and instruct patients on pre- and post-dialysis care.
Customer Service:

You will be responsible for supporting the values and customer service standards of Dialysis Care Center. You will be accountable for outstanding customer service to all staff, clients, and vendors, developing and maintaining effective relationships through effective and timely communication.

Education and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, RN or BSN.
  • Current state licensure as a RN.
  • Current CPR certification.
Experience:

You must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting, with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. You should have good presentation and communication skills, be productive and resourceful, and able to meet deadlines.

Other Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 months hemodialysis experience is preferred.
