Position Overview

Dog Tag Bakery, Inc. is on the lookout for a dedicated Artisan Pastry Specialist with expertise in crafting high-quality breads, rustic pastries, and delectable desserts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of initiative and the ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. This role is crucial in upholding the exceptional standards of Dog Tag Bakery, ensuring that all products meet our quality benchmarks, assisting in the training of new team members, and effectively communicating any staffing, equipment, and ingredient requirements to the Head Chef. Additionally, this position involves researching and experimenting with recipes for innovative menu items and seasonal offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to recipes and instructions with precision.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety regulations, including CDC guidelines.
  • Maintain product quality in alignment with Dog Tag Bakery standards.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new staff members.
  • Manage production and inventory levels for designated stations.
  • Assist with the Fellowship Program and its participants as required.
  • Participate in and contribute to back-of-house meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with the Head Chef regarding staffing, equipment, and ingredient needs.
  • Engage in research and testing of recipes for new and seasonal menu items.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional baking experience or equivalent culinary education.
  • Possession of a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work well in both independent and team settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Proficient in identifying and resolving issues swiftly.
  • Skilled in operating machinery safely and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate scheduling needs.
  • Highly responsible, punctual, and dependable.
