At Children's Receiving Home, we're dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for young individuals in need of care and guidance. As a Youth Care Specialist - Residential Support, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the daily well-being and development of our residents.

About the Role

This position requires a compassionate and experienced professional who can provide 24/7 support to our youth. You'll be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and healthy living environment that fosters growth and positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized attention and support to residents, focusing on their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Ensure a structured and organized living environment, including household chores, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively, utilizing de-escalation techniques and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Document resident progress, incidents, and other relevant information accurately and timely.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid California Driver's License and ability to meet agency transport policy requirements.
  • First Aid certification (can be obtained through our organization) and CPR within six weeks of employment.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certifications within three months of employment.
  • Maintain current certifications throughout employment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
