Diesel Mechanic

Student Transportation of America is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform complex operations on large commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

• Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
• Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests.
• Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
• Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
• Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
• Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition.
• Perform other duties as required.

• 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic.
• Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
• Complete all training requirements.
• Pre-employment background checks.
