Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and charismatic Dining Room Ambassador to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will be responsible for ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome Guests: Greet patrons with a smile and escort them to their tables or designated areas, ensuring they feel valued and respected.
  • Menu Provision: Provide menus to guests in a timely and efficient manner, making recommendations when necessary.
  • Table Assignment: Assign tables according to guest preferences and server workload, maintaining a fair rotation to ensure even distribution of seating.
  • Satisfaction Check: Engage with patrons to assess their satisfaction with food and service, responding promptly to any concerns or complaints.
  • Phone Management: Answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls as needed, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • To-Go Orders: Take and prepare to-go orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Cash Handling: Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages, maintaining accurate records and handling cash transactions with precision.
  • Team Coordination: Maintain open communication with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure seamless execution of dining details and address customer concerns.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Inspect dining and serving areas regularly to ensure cleanliness and proper setup, taking prompt action to rectify any issues.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff, ensuring prompt and courteous service to patrons.
  • Reservations: Receive and record patrons' dining reservations accurately, managing waitlists and table assignments effectively.
  • Restroom Inspection: Regularly inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies, cleaning them as needed.
  • Special Events: Plan and coordinate parties or other special events, working closely with colleagues to deliver exceptional experiences.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with coworkers to improve workflow and customer service, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive excellence.

Requirements

  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, able to build rapport with guests and colleagues alike.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate well-organized abilities, taking and placing food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Showcase excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to navigate high-pressure situations with poise and professionalism.
  • Pace and Stress: Function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Technical Skills: Possess the ability to operate point-of-sale systems with ease.

Education and Experience

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a host/hostess is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Training Course: Must successfully complete our comprehensive restaurants training course.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required for this role.
  • Availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to meeting business needs.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is between $25,000 - $35,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
