The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional Department Manager to join our team at Meijer. As a key leader, you will be responsible for driving team member engagement, performance management, training, and development. You will oversee Leads and Team Leaders, ensuring the smooth operation of area activities and financial results. Your expertise will help us identify and implement process improvements and maintain our commitment to a positive company culture.
Responsibilities
- Engage with team members to ensure they receive adequate training, coaching, and feedback for success.
- IDentify talent and develop strategies for career growth and succession planning.
- Conduct regular reviews and discussions with team members to ensure adherence to Meijer standards and provide opportunities for advancement.
- Accountable for area operations, including budget management, shrink reduction, safety initiatives, and conflict resolution.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 4+ years of retail, grocery, or customer service experience.
- Progressive leadership experience preferred.
- A passion for delivering industry-leading service and creating a positive customer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members, analyze data, and make informed decisions.
- Proven track record of leading organizations that prioritize workplace safety and quality service.
- A strong business acumen and ability to think creatively and drive business growth.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
